They discovered business is not brisk on a sunny Saturday, but did make $181.00 in the four hours they were open. Another summer, it may be better to do this on the a day the Youth Department running a Children's Program. SUMMER READING CLUB We had a letter from Irene Kobylkin-Somody, who said in part "Thank you so much for your support and help during the library's Medal Presentation Ceremony on Friday, September 6. Many cookies and cups of coffee, tea and juice disappeared that night. The Friends of the Library again facilitated another fun-filled event for us and the Staff in the Youth Services Dept, are most grateful." This year's Reading Club was VERY successful with the total participation of 1344 young people compared to 1160 in 2001.
