NEWSLETTER Issue 151 April 2002 West Vancouver Memorial Library MEMBERSHIP Membership Chair, Maureen Eagle, reported that no new members have joined since March. However our regular members are renewing and we are pleased to report our Membership is once more at 171. This is very good news and we say thank-you for your continued support. It's encouraging to see new and long time members participating and sharing ideas at our monthly meetings. At our March meeting we looked at new meeting time options for the coming year. During the months of April, May and June we will hold our regular meetings as before, at 7:00pm in the evening. (there are no regular meetings in July and August) In September, October and November the Friends will hold luncheon meetings. Bring your lunch with you and tea and coffee will be provided. As before, the Friends will continue to hold their monthly meetings on the 4th Wednesday of the month in the Peter J. Peters Room, only the time of the meeting will be affected. So please mark your calendars accordingly and we will see you on April 24th at 7:00 p.m. in the Peter J. Peters Room. TREASURER'S REPORT From the desk of our Treasurer, Ian Loudon, the Financial Statement to March 27, 2002: General Account $23,631 (Including Term Deposit of $11,245) Expenses 241 $23,390 Gaming Account 798 Total Funds - $24,188 A full Financial Report and copies of the minutes are available from the Library's Administration Office - See Lori during office hours. BOOK CART SALES March was another month with recorded sales of just under $500. Barbara Drummond also reported that the book cart crew were a bit mystified as "jig saw puzzles" are appearing on the book cart with no price tag. Like our "Red Dot books", all puzzles are individually priced. Unfortunately when they are not priced, it does create a bit of a problem for our busy Library staff. Could these be donations from the public? Our heartfelt thanks to our Library Staff for their cooperation and superb support, we couldn't do it without them.
