WEST WING PROJECT On November 27th, Linda Louis, Chair of the Library Foundation, along with the Mayor of the District of West Vancouver, successfully handled the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the West Wing . The new shelving upgrade project was funded by the Library Foundation and the District of West Vancouver. The large and delicious cake was masterfully cut by none other than Eileen de Bues, with Maureen Eagle, Patricia Treadwell, Sophia Weremchuk assisting with the tea and coffee service. Thanks to Marguerite Cassetta for providing her beautiful silver service for the grand occasion and especially to Sally Zaplatynsky of the Foundation who cheerfully carried out the kitchen duties. CHRISTMAS CLOSING The Library will be closed for the Christmas and New Year's holidays from 5:00 p.m. December 23rd until 10:00 a.m. January 2nd 2002 Remember to stock up with holiday reading on or before December 23rd. LIBRARY FLOWERS The half dozen poinsettias throughout the Library and the special "Winter Rose" for Lillian and Lori are compliments of the Friends of the Library. (We had them in time for the ribbon-cutting ceremony). The poinsettias are very much appreciated by the staff and patrons. They help bring in the Christmas spirit.
