ART GALLERY Barbara Drummond reports that the Friday evening receptions are popular with artist and attendees. A roster of 10 to 12 "Friends" are assisting at receptions. In this way the work is shared by many and has become a fun and enjoyable event every third Friday. Next year, the Artists' Receptions will be on a monthly basis. We wish to thank the following Friends who have hosted the receptions this summer: August 10th Reception for The Harmony Arts Festival group: Noreen Avery, Danielle Shepherd, Helia Mehdikhani and Gisele Black. August 24th Reception for artist Elizabeth Harris-Nichols: Noreen Avery, Grace Kravac and Eileen Smith. September 14th Reception for artists Paula Fodchuk <& Yum Nixon: Barbara Drummond, Grace Kravac and Eileen Smith. Ocober 5th Reception for "The Oktagono Group" hosted by Noreen Avery, Danielle Shepherd and Grace Kravac. October 26th Reception for artists Margaret Merler and Charlotte Grunding Art Show hosted by Grace Kravac and Eileen Smith Once again, Thank you. TREASURER'S REPORT Treasurer, Ian Loudon, presented the Friends Financial Report to the 24th October 2001: Bank Account $10,663. Term Deposit $1 1,058. Cash on Hand $ 197. Gaming Account $762. TOTAL FUNDS $22,680. Monies we have paid out since June to support the Library: 7 Stakx (paperback racks) $4,629.10 1 Digital Camera $ 980,21 Total $5,609.32 From Gaming Account: Library's new sound system Total $5,257. BOOK CART SALES Sales continue to exceed expectation. Since June 28 to the end of October the book cart made approximately $1,978, with October being the best month yet with sales totalling $819. Could this have something to do with our new location? A tremendous thank-you to all the Library Staff, Volunteers and Friends -- Wanda, Barbara, Noreen, Brendan, Ted and Ian, for their time and effort in contributing to the success of our book cart. CHRISTMAS PARTY You are invited, so please A mark your calendar and come out and meet the Library family; Library Staff, Fellow Friends, Library Volunteers, Board, Foundation and Honorary Advisory Board.
