As we do not meet during the summer months, our next meeting will be on the 3rd WEDNESDAY, the 19th September at 7:00 p.m. in the Library's 3rd Floor Story House. Thank you to our Membership Chair, Maureen Eagle for a great job. CHIEF LIBRARIAN'S REPORT Ann Goodhart reported the Library is adding another Ebsco electronic database. It will feature newspapers, especially Canadian ones. The teen group was given responsibility for designing and implementing the decorations for the Bookmobile on Community Day. They won the Library its first ever award - for best interpretation of the theme. Youth Services presented their puppet show to a good sized audience on Community Day at the Community Centre. The summer reading programs are under way. There are the "Read to Me" Club, the Summer Reading Club and the Teen Summer Reading Club. Teens can read, collect stickers and get free coupons and prizes donated by local sponsors. The new shelving for the Mezzanine and the West Wing has been ordered. The Library staff are in the middle of all the other details and they hope to have begun work on their ambitious shelving project in early August. This is to update the Library to Earthquake standards. TREASURER'S REPORT An update from our Treasurer, Ian Loudon.
