ART GALLERY The reception for Dr. Sedigheh Nouri, on April 20th was a delightfully successful event with eight paintings sold. The Library's Peter J. Peters Room was the location of what can only be described as a banquet of traditional food prepared by Dr. Nouri herself. The Friends had a busy night -Roy Geldart was on crowd control, Noelene Harland was busy serving the coffee, Gisele Black served tea and with the help of Irene Esson, ensured that all details of the reception ran smoothly. Everyone helped Sophia Weremchuk with the dishwashing and cleanup. Although it was a lot of work, it was also a lot of fun. Not only was Dr. Nouri very appreciative of the Friends, but she sent us home with many of the delicious leftovers! "Mixed Palette" In pastel, watercolour, acrylic and oils Will be on display from May 14th to June 10th. The three artists in this show are: Riitta Peirone - whose works in pastel and watercolour reflect her surroundings at home and the nearby Capilano River as well as her interest in portraits and figurative work. Riitta's work has been shown in West Vancouver Sketch Club shows as well as other local shows. Ingrid Taylor - who has a Fine Arts degree from York University, Toronto.
