Our meetings are open to all Friends and are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Peter J. Peters Room. It is always encouraging to see new faces at our meetings. TREASURER'S REPORT Copies of the Treasurer's Report for the period January 1st to February 28th, 2001, prepared by Ian Loudon, were circulated at the February meeting. Total Regular Funds $23,617.80 Total Gaming Funds 1st Jan 2001 $5,950.92 + Interest from Gaming Society:- $ 703.34 Total Gaming Account: -28th Feb 2001:- $6,654.26 TOTAL FUNDS $30,272.06 Note: The BC Gaming Commission approved our request to use the funds in the Gaming Account for a new audio/visual system for the Library. Funds are to be disbursed by 31st December 2001. A full financial Report is available from the Library's Administration Office - see Lillian during office hours. FRIENDS FUNDING Remembrance Day An "Open House" in the Memorial Library immediately following the service at the cenotaph on Remembrance Day has long been a tradition for the citizens of West Vancouver. Over the years, The Friends have organized the reception on behalf of the Library, served coffee, tea, juice and cookies. At our February monthly meeting it was unanimously approved that the Friends of the Library will, as their mandate, provide the funding as well as organize and host the Remembrance Day Open House. Last year over 1,000 citizens attended the reception and the cost to the Friends was under $700.00.
