ART GALLERY From May 9th to 21st, we are be hosting the Annual West Vancouver "Grad Show", featuring the multi-media artwork of the graduating students from Sentinel, West Vancouver Secondary and Collingwood Schools. Most artworks are for sale. Thanks again to Elsa O'Connor and Gisele Black for their work to ensure the reception ran smoothly. "Je me Souviens Gordon" artwork from Robert Gordon McHarg III's childhood drawings, will be featured from May 23rd to June 17th. The exhibition's first showing was at the John Spencer Gallery in London, England and the Fuji Rock Festival '99 in Japan. These are drawings saved by the artist's mother from his kindergarten and elementary school masterpieces. Reception with the artist in attendance is on May 23 rd from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. Most artworks are for sale. Elsa O'Connor, who has for so many years graciously hosted the monthly artists Opening Receptions. She has told us that, as much as she still wants to be involved in this event, she would like to see someone else responsible for the receptions. Gisele Black has been Elsa's protege and she has expressed her interest and willingness to take on the position. In the upcoming artists' receptions we look to Gisele to carry on with the tradition so notably and graciously performed by Elsa. A heartfelt "Thank You, Elsa", for your dedication and hard work to ensure the artists' receptions ran smoothly. We took for granted your time and effort in hosting these events on behalf of the Friends. COMMUNITY DAY PARADE As this is the Library's 50th Anniversary we would like to have 50 volunteers walk in the parade on June 3rd, 2000.
