NEWSLETTER Issue 135 May 2000 West Vancouver Memorial Library MEMBERSHIP Our membership chair, Maureen Eagle, reported no new members joined in April. We were encouraged to hear that memberships are being renewed and that our membership remains at 176. We welcomed Tom Reid, a member for some time who attended his first meeting of the Friends. We were especially encouraged when he expressed amazement at how much the Friends have contributed to the Library over the past 50 years. We encourage all members of the Friends to attend our monthly meetings and look forward to seeing Tom at future meetings. Our next meeting will be held on May 24th, 2000. Due to a special event that was somehow scheduled for the same day as the Friends meeting, we will be meet in the "Story House" on the 3rd floor of the library. This should be an interesting location and it will give us an opportunity to experience a part of the library which we may rarely visit.
