Budget Situation The Library Board had met with Municipal Council to review reductions in the Library's operating budgets for 1997 and future years which council has indicated will be necessary. The Board is delaying a decision on significant service reductions until Council announces its official budget in May, but the Board has already reluctantly decided to raise adult book fines and room rental costs, as well as reducing the number of Sundays on which the library will be open. ► Circulating CD-ROM Collection This collection, partially funded by a donation from the Friends, has now been received and is being catalogued. An appropriate recognition event reflecting the generosity of the Friends and CIBC will be arranged shortly. ♦ Meeting with Ann Goodhart The incoming Chief Librarian - who begins her duties on May 20 -visited West Vancouver on April 4.
