NEWSLETTER No. 95 December 1995 Dear Friend of the Library, MEETINGS There is no meeting this month, but we shall be having our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, January 24th, 1996 at 7:00 p.m. in the Elizabeth Musto Room (The old Seminar Room). In the near future we shall be needing a new Chairperson, a new Secretary, and a new Treasurer. Our Annual Reception will be held on Monday, February 19th, 1996, between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. More details in the January Newsletter. MEMBERSHIP AND RENEWALS Our total membership reached 108 last month, and we hope you will all renew your membership for 1996, as appropriate. Betsy Lee, Chair of the Membership Committee, wishes you to know that renewals will be documented in a different way from now on, to take into account the situation where new members join, or have already joined, during the calendar year, as opposed to those whose anniversary falls in January. The new procedure, effective for January, 1996 will be as follows:Renewal forms will not form part of the Newsletter (as before), but will be enclosed separately with your Newsletter. This month - December, 1995, all members whose membership expires in January, 1996, will find their renewal form enclosed herewith; then forms for February renewals will be sent with the January Newsletter and so on, depending on the month in which you joined the Friends originally. In other words, you will receive your renewal form in the month preceding the month of your anniversary. The new membership cards issued for 1996 onwards will show the expiry date, as a reminder. This new procedure will therefore ensure that every membership card will cover a full 12-month period. While on the subject of membership, please remember that all members are very welcome to join us in our monthly meetings, on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Peter J . Peters Room. Our meetings are very friendly and usually last for under an hour. ARTIST'S RECEPTION The next artist's reception will be on January 2nd, 1996 from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. with artist Brian Williams in attendance. His exhibition "Themes and Variations" will continue until January 28th. .../2
