Youth Services Department Staff in the Department are entering the busiest time of their year, being involved with the annual Children's Festival in Vancouver this week, preparing for the Community Day parade followed by their usual puppet shows at the Recreation Centre; in addition the Summer Reading Club will be starting up once more late in June. 4. Head of Support Services Glennie Robson, who will be retiring at the end of July following nearly 35 years service to the Memorial Library, has been plagued by a series of illnesses most of this year. We will be advertising for her replacement soon with a view to having the new Head of Support Services begin Tuesday, August 2. 5. Acquisitions Assistant Sue Zeitler recently retired after 25 years with the Memorial Library. Her replacement is Devona Miller. 6. New Library Act Bill 12 was recently tabled in the Legislature. The act as presented would have little impact on West Van but with the regulations that are to accompany it would be of significant benefit to library service generally in B.C. /2
