Other Business a) Reception planning Betty O'Sullivan recommended that the Friends consider purchasing a large vacuum container for coffee at the various Friends' receptions. The decision was made to purchase two of these containers. b) Upcoming events Eileen reported that the Music in the Library series will be commencing on March 9; the next artist reception is on February 28. c) Friends of the Library brochure The current brochure being in need of revision, Wayne Leigh-Spencer was asked to examine it and bring the changes to Lillian Chow. d) Casino Night Alan Maxwell indicated that the Casino will be held at the Quality Inn on Southwest Marine Drive in Vancouver on March 21 and 22. A number of volunteers are needed. Tony Scammell will be in charge on the Monday evening and Irene Caudwell will also be present that evening while Alan and Don Fletcher will take the Tuesday. Carol Kostiuk (Monday) and Jack Mounce (Tuesday) will also be in attendance. Eileen asked that something be put into the newsletter to try and gain further volunteers for this event. Other people will also be phoned. e) Newsletter Tony reported that there are apparently some problems in printing the newsletter on two sides of the sheet. Jack indicated that he would look into this, as it is important that we show concern for the environment by maximising our use of paper. 9.
