(Vita Sackville-West: The Garden) The weather on November 11th, once again, was kind even though on the chilly side. The parade was impressive, the ceremonies were well conducted and the Cenotaph service was dignified and fitting for the occasion. A worthy tribute, attended by a very large number of people, young and old. It seemed that everyone came into the Library to enjoy a warm-up cup of coffee or tea afterwards, to see the new premises and talk to old friends. All appreciated our efforts and many made a point of saying so, and we felt glad to be a part of what is always a heart-warming occasion. I feel sure that the numbers were up this year - we rented 350 cups and saucers this time and I think few of them were unused. We have to own up to two miscalculations - the cookies ran out, so did the kids' apple juice. (Lois - where were you?!). But everything else worked well - the new space makes it all so easy and the kitchen adjoining the meeting room is right where we want it; Well done everyone! JUST BETWEEN FRIENDS Just before our last monthly meeting we received a welcome letter from Lois (Kilburn), and Eileen has asked me to include some extracts of special interest, about the first six months since she left West Van. Initially she
