FREE LECTURE SERIES Ann Pearson is organising a series of free lectures on behalf of the Library Board. The dates and speakers will be as follows: October 14: Dr. Ivan Head, economist. Dr. Head's lecture will focus on the shifting economic trends between Northern and Southern Hemisphere nations. He will emphasize the growing strength of some previously under-estimated nations - e.g. Chile. October 28: Jack Whyte, author. He will focus on the Arthurian legend and his solution to the sword in the stone mystery. November 25: Peter Hyslop, engineer, project manager for the Lions Gate Crossing. His lecture will centre on the various alternatives to the Lions Gate Crossing -- a timely and highly political subject. All will start at 7:30 p.m. in the Library's new meeting room.
