NEWSLETTER No.64 April 1993 Dear Friend of the Library, NEXT MEETING: Wednesday, April 28th, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. BUILDING CONSTRUCTION & OPENING The new area is expected to be completed by the end of May, following which it will be occupied in stages while work continues in the old building. It is hoped that everything will be completed by mid-July. The official opening date later in the year has once more become a "moveable feast" for a variety of reasons, so watch this space for further information. COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE Jack Mounce and your Editor are both serving on this committee, the object of which is to develop a consistent, integrated approach to PR for the Library, Library Foundation, Friends and Volunteers. The main focus for the committee during the next few months will be the official opening of the Memorial Library addition. MEMORIAL LIBRARY FOUNDATION The Memorial Library Foundation of West Vancouver is committed to raising money to make the best and busiest library even better. Established in 1986, the Foundation's goal is to receive, invest and administer bequests, endowments and trusts to enhance the collections and facilities of the Memorial Library. West Vancouver's Municipal Council generously provides the capital and operating funds necessary for basic library operations. In fact, the taxpayers of our Municipality spend more per capita on their library than citizens of any other Lower Mainland municipality not surprising, as we are the busiest library users in Greater Vancouver, by far.
