The Provincial Library Services Branch distributed to every B.C. public and college library a computerized catalogue of all their holdings. Also with encouragement from the Provincial Government, the Greater Vancouver Library Federation, of which West Vancouver was a founding member in 1976, was expanded on a pilot project basis to include Surrey, Coquitlam, Fraser Valley Regional Library and Bowen Island.
