NEWSLETTER No.62 February 1993 Dear Friend of the Library, Time flies. Christmas is long forgotten and so is January. The snow has gone and the spring bulbs are pushing up in spite of that very cold (for B.C.) spell. As Shakespeare says in A Midsummer Night's Dream, "Saint Valentine is past: Begin these wood-birds but to couple now?" NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Friends will take place on Wednesday, February 24th, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. RECEPTION & ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Our annual reception on January 25th was a happy occasion, attended by Friends, volunteers, library board members and library staff, made all the better by delicious food prepared by Lois Kilburn in her own inimitable style. Thank you so much Lois; and thanks to Jack Mounce for bringing the wine. The Annual General Meeting held on January 27th is covered in the Minutes which accompany this Newsletter. A copy of the President's Report is also included. CASINO NIGHTS We have two allocated to us this month, February 22nd and 23rd, just before our next meeting. Here's hoping we will be lucky and come home with enough to provide furnishings for the Youth Services Department in their new location
