Report from the Chief Librarian We seem to have many things happening these days. Here's a sampling: - Volunteer activity continues as a small group including some of the Friends proceeds with the labelling of paperbacks for eventual sorting into alphabetical order on the pb racks. - The fund raising campaign is getting quite exciting, the total now standing at 76% of the goal; in addition, the donation of services by internationally known architect and West Van resident Rick Hulbert has provided a real boost and moved up the expected date for construction. - 40th anniversary plans for November are proceeding, with another meeting of the committee scheduled for the last week in May. - We have been asked to advise the Maple Ridge Library on how to set up a successful Friends group! Your president, past president and I will be travelling out there to explain it all early in June. Jack Mounce
