NEWSLETTER II;ii. March 1989 Dear Friend, A brief word about the numbering of this letter: it is the second letter after our formal Incorporation under the Society Act of B.C. - the "post-incorporation" accounting for the II; the second letter for the ii. There isn't a great deal to report this month, but perhaps three or four points should be made. The next meeting (March 22nd) will be a meeting of the executive committee - the general membership is welcome to come - 7 p.m. in the Seminar Room. The final disposal of the stock of the Gift Shop will take place on Saturday, March 18th, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the following prices: Golf Shirts $15 Sweat Shirts $17 Sweaters $20 Tote Bags $9 Indian Carvings $9 The consignment items - jewellery, artistic cards, scarves, etc. will also be somewhat reduced in price. Friends will still qualify for the additional 10% discount but, alas, we will all have to contribute 6% (net) to the Province's coffers. Apropos of this sale, the display case will be out near where the cassettes are at present. Jack Mounce would appreciate the help of any Friends who would care to aid in restoring books to their places of residence after the new carpet has been laid. He promises no heavy labour; this would take place on Monday, March 27th (Easter Monday). The Library will be closed to the general public. He would also appreciate volunteers to man the display the Library will be offering at the Second Annual Display of Services to Seniors in Park Royal from March 30th to April 1st inclusive. The "work" would involve handing out brochures and answering questions of a general nature on the Library. If interested, contact Tony Scammell at 926-1820. We have 88 members as of today; of whom some 20 or so are new. Welcome to you all 1 Let's try for 200 this year! If there's a high school student in your family (or next door) don't forget they can have full membership at half-price ($5.00). Try to recruit your paper-boy! Until next month, I am, Yours truly, Charles B. Corbet Editor
