- several examples of Indian carving from the Capilano Reserve - very nice work, ranging in size from letter-openers to one or two much larger, more traditional items? - copies of the commemorative videotape recording West Vancouver's 75th Anniversary celebrations, and also copies of Bruce Ramsay's "A Place of Excellence"; - a framed historical photograph of Peppi's; - some nice lapidary work, on consignment from members of Anne Fletcher's club; - the 75th Anniversary Cookbook, compiled by parishioners of St. Stephen's Anglican Church; - greeting cards and prints by Ann Hurst and Ian Rowles, both of whom exhibited their work in the Library within the past 6-9 months; - postcards showing the Library's stained glass window. There are, however, two drawbacks: it is, by its very nature, a trifle, um, expensive, and to exhibit it in our display case is to take a chance on a "smash-and-grab". Hours of Opening: The Shop will, initially, be open Fridays from noon until 4 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Gift Shop Committee would very much like to have the shop open more than two day! a week - in fact as often as possible, within reason - but they must have more people to staff it on a regular basis. Sales Tax Number: We have applied for a Sales Tax Number so that our suppliers for the Gift Shop will not charge us the Provincial Sales Tax; while the application is pending, we have been granted a 'temporary certificate of exemption'. Incorporation of the Friends: Erskine Blackburn and Anne Fletcher have prepared a report recommending that we incorporate. Erskine is also draughting a formal constitution and by-laws for our consideration at this month's meeting, which, if approved and signed by the requisite number of members, he will submit to the Registrar in Victoria.
