The equipment set up crew wifi meet at Klee Wyck at 5:30 pm on Sunday, February 5. We can always use more men to bring the equipment to the Mall, so call Jim Elton if you can help. It is a good way to meet some other members. To remind you, those paintings originally slotted for the Brewster's Coffee show are now part of this Capilano Show. Those members whose names appear on the list in this newsletter, wifi bring the paintings on the list to the Capilano Mall on Sunday, February 5 at 6pm. Enter the mall from the south entrance (near the Liquor Store) off the rear parking lot. The show is in the mall under the atrium. All members with paintings in the show will be phoned to get their names on the duty roster the assumption is that for each painting in the Show, the member-artist would serve at the show for two hours sometimes during the seven day duration of the Show. Anyone who is unable to do so should find a substitute. - For members who do not have a painting in the show but would like to volunteer a couple of hours to help out, please call me. You will be a hero for someone in a jam!! A new aspect for us with this show is that we will have a Reception from 7 to 9 PM on Monday, February 6. We will have wine and non-alcoholic drinks for sale, and some light snacks. The mall will be closed as of 6 PM that evening, so you need to direct your guests to the south entrance to the mall, next to the Liquor Store. The conditions of our liquor license for a public venue is that it must be a "by invitation only" event, so you must get your guests' names on this list. You can also direct your guests to the Club website, and there is a "Click Here" which wifi send an e-nail to Jennifer automatically. We ask that all members invite guests to the reception the show past buyers, friends and anyone else they think could be interested. - Members with paintings in the show will be on the invitation list. All members are welcome, just contact Jennifer as indicated above to get your name on the list. Members with e-mail addresses in our files have been sent copies of an invitation that you can print out or attach to an e-mail. Let's make this a great party and the beginning of a successful new tradition for us. When you invite people to the reception, suggest that the come to show during the week if they cannot make the reception. This show will be having a draw for a $100 off on the choice of any unsold painting at the end of the show. The entry for the draw is a ballot for a People's Choice Award. We wifi have ballots at the show. We ask that the members on duty engage passers by and visitors to the show and talk to them about their favourite painting. By voting for their favourite, many people will focus more closely on the paintings in the show. Ballots wifi be placed in dispensers or containers throughout the show with a box also at the main desk.
