Al has asked for an assistant and if anyone is interested, they should meet with him at the break. iii. Larry answered questions regarding this reception. Larry detailed our strategy for having this reception, that being to encourage more attendance. Larry asked that members bring names of invitees to Jennifer Tunner at the meeting. Larry also outlined to the members how people can get on the invited list via the website. Larry also described the "People's Choice" award which offers a $100 discount on any painting at the show to the winning entry. It is hoped that people wifi take a greater amount of time to look at the paintings and we will also accumulate a greater mailing list with these entries. Workshops Frieda Ashworth - i. Frieda explained to members that members wifi be signed up for workshops starting at 6:30 on a first come first serve basis in the future. Frieda has enough names on the waiting list created tonight to ask Mike Svob if he can do another workshop. Those members on the wait list will be automatically signed up. - ii. February space. th 26 Lorena Lee will do a watermedia workshop, working on composition and negative iii. Mike O'Toole will do the March workshop (2 consecutive Fridays) and April wifi focus on pastels. In May, Edith will do "outside the box" on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and in June, June Harmon wifi do an acrylic workshop. iv A member asked if the Friday workshops were well received and Frieda assured the members that this format was well received. Gordon Davis publicity - i. Gordon described the Laudate singers show that Heather proposed in November. Details wifi follow in the next newsletter. ii. Gordon listed member shows. iv The February 6-12 Cap Mall show was outlined and Gordon encouraged all members to participate and attend the opening reception. Larry Achtemichuk While the ballots were being collected, Larry related to members the progress involving the Argyle St. Precinct Planning activities, and our input into this important aspect of the art community. Larry described the letter that he sent to those involved in the planning stating the Sketch Club's ideas. Meeting adjourned.
