But maybe some of you don't know how extensive the avail able resources are. Why not, in the year ahead, wander into a new corner of the library (we've got enough of the back issues of local newspapers them) and discover on microfilm, our excellent children's folklore collec tion, the growing travel pamphlet collection, the card catalogues of U.B.C. and Simon Fraser University on microfiche, or the excellent collection of local historical photographs. -- :L. LOCAL HISTORY COLLECTION GROWING During the past year the local history collection has developed at a tremendous rate. An historical collec tion consists of photographs, maps, newspapers, clip pings, letters, municipal reports, pamphlets, and university theses. As well, the Reference Department has sponsored programs by groups like the University Women's Club and lectures by such personalities as Rupert Harrison and Art Davies on the local scene. Or spend a visit just chatting with the information staff about your information needs for work, study, hobby, or leisure. Or pick up a booklist and use it as a guide to new discoveries on our shelves.
