AUTOMATION UPDATE Finally, library cards are being distributedk, in readiness for the automated circulation system to begin next month. Each card bears a unique bar-coded number which identifies the borrower and permits quicker, more accurate borrowing. Please note that with the new cards, anyone using other GVLF libraries will need a card from that library. Such a card is free and can be issued on the spot. In this way, total acc ess to area libraries is still assured, better library service and planning is possible and at less cost in the years ahead. A new Card is only the small, visible end of a totally new in--house process, designed to improve library service and maintain our high standards in the austere years ahead. Staff will be happy to answer your questions on the new system. ADULT SERVICES DEPARTMENT IN THE GALLERY Ski scenes in oil on canvas by artist Ken Wesman will be on display through December.
