It may be a squib in Chatelaine or a treatise in New York Times Review. Experienced staff try to cover all the likely sources La order to select toe 10,000 each year that will contribute most to meeting the cornmirnity's short and long term reading requirements. (Suggestions are always welcome). Most now books appear each spring and fall so ordering may be more active then. There are book wholesalers and some publishers who vie for public library business. Most give libraries between 30 40% off list price. Orders go out regularly and new books flow in almost 200 in the average week.
