College, university, school, special and public libraries throughout the province will mark this occasion with a vai'iety of events. The Memorial Library will be showing a spectacular video presentation on the contribution of libraries to our ay of life several times daily during the week, and there will be a poster contest in the Children's Department. Libraries Week (Nov. 2--8) all 5 to 15 year olds are invited to enter a poster--making contest. The winning entries will be displayed in the library, and there will be book awards for the best poster in three a divisions: 5--8 years; 9--11 years;12--l5 years. Deadline for completed entries is 5:00 pm Further details and Saturday, November 1st. contest rules are available in the Children's Department. Please note that the very popular Sunday opening of the Merrorial Library resumes on October 19. Unfortunately xe will not be able to offer reference service by telephone, but e'1l be providing full reference and loan ervices at the Library itself from l--5pm each Sunday (except Easter) until the end of April.
