The School Board gave approval for the Memorial Library to rent space at Hillside School for the next few years, until a Library addition has been constructed and books which are in lesser demand but are too important, in our view, to discard can be restored to the main collection. The reason for all this of course is that the Library shelves are overflowing, despite the fact that one quarter to one third of the collection is on loan at any one time. In order t meet our needs, the storage area had to consist of at least 1,000 square feet (preferably twice as much), iad to be dry and at least partially ieated, lockable, easily accessible by truck and situated on a concrete floor in order to withstand the considerable weight of densely packed books. Lastly, it had to be reasonably close to the Memorial Library itself, as there will be a certain amount of traffic back and forth between the Library and the storage location.
