JANUARY2008 NEWSLETTER I'AGE 3 CITYSCAPE NORTH VANCOUVER We have a proposal in to Cityscape for a show in this year on the theme of either Celebration or Light. Thanks to Larry and Heather Luccock for pulling together this proposal. We have not as yet heard back as to whether we have been successful. Hopefully by the next meeting. - HARMONY ARTS AUGUST We expect to be invited again to Harmony Arts in West Vancouver. We are lobbying for a tent of our own and hopefully this will work out it would greatly improve our show. - To prepare for the above two opportunities we will have a jurying in late April or early May and more details will follow. In the meantime, blow the dust of those brushes that have been sitting around over the holidays and start pushing some paint! At our last meeting some discussion was held regarding lifting the size limit of 40" on paintings. It was suggested that we lift this restriction for the AFAS show in November as we have more space at our venue to display large works. For other shows at smaller venues larger paintings would reduce the number of artists who would be able to show so it was felt we should keep the size restrictions in those venues. Also the AFAS is the only unjuried show so the size restriction would still be in effect for this upcoming jurying. If you have any questions or comments, please contact me.
