councils Art Rental Jurying & Monthly Show The North Vancouver Arts Council Art Rental program offers work for rental to the public, for home or office, for a rental fee of 2% of the value. Ajurying for works for this program, which includes paintings, prints, video, 3D work and photography. will be held on October7th and 8th. V7V1A1 TELEPHONE: 922-1110 Go PUBLIC WITH YOUR ART The selection committee for Art in Public Places is calling for artists who wish to be considered for display of their work in the Art in Public Places Galleries--the North Vancouver City Hall and the North Vancouver District Hall. Submissions will be accepted in the form of photos or slides of the artist's work. Media may be varied but only works which can be displayed on walls will be accepted. Information and applications are available through the North Vancouver Community Arts Council, 333 Chesterfield Avenue, North Vancouver, V7M 3G9, or call 988-6844. Ajurying was held in July for art displays at the newly renovated District Hall. When it opens in October. the "Atrium" will feature art objects displayed in enclosed glass shOwcases. Look for further details of the October grand opening, set to coincide with a special two- and three-dimensional visual arts exhibition. At a later date, the District Hall will also feature some public art of a more permanent sort. In mid-August, the District put out a call for submissions for a public art piece for the Atrium. The commission is budgeted at $65,000. For details, see the Arts Callboard on the facing page, or pick up an information package at the municipal hail.
