The jurors for Visual Edge 94 (sec Arts Focus story on page 5) have two responsibilities. One is to select a limited number of works which will comprise the larger Images & Objects XII exhibition. The jurors recognize that although this will be an important event, it can only showcase a small sampling of the art being created in this province. The other responsibility is to engage artists, both those selected and not selected, in a dialogue about the work, which will be mutually beneficial to both the artists and the jurors. The jurors' basis for selection will be sensitive to the diversity of work submitted, in recognition that artists make art for different reasons and from different experiences. They will be looking for works that convey evidence of personal commitment, integrity and creative exploi Art that is informed by a specific s self and of place provides a basis for examining the communities in which we live and work. of 1. Entry is open to artists of all ages and cultural backgrounds. 2. A n artist's statement must accompany the work. 3. Only original works are eligible--no copies, kits or commercial molds (unless they are an integral part of the work itself). 4. Work previously submitted in a regional juried exhibition for Images & Objects may not be resubmitted. 5. Works must have been completed after January. 1992 (within the last two years). 6. Work may be submitted in only one region, the region in which you reside. Please note that electrical works must be to code. Exhibition & touring note: For works which require specific installation, instructions must be attached. If special equipment is required to view a work, as in the case of film or video, the artist must supply it.
