Close to 100 examples will be on view, including book jackets, magazine editorials, logos, store displays, illustrations, package design and posters. The exhibit aimed atVancouver's Advertising and Design community, represents the class's best portfolio work. Some of the students, who will graduate from the programme in May. are already working in the industry. The exhibition hours are Monday to Saturday, daily from 10:00AM to 5:00PM. SinclairCentre is located at 757 West Hastings St, Vancouver. Look for the free Paint-In at the Canada Day celebrations on July 1st at Waterfront Park. Come and pick up a brush, dip it in the many colours available and paint anything you wish. This has been a popular feature of the celebrations for many years and everyone is invited to participate-- young and old. Wheelchair artists are especially invited to contribute their talents. The site (on the pier at Waterfront Park) is easily accessible. This event is sponsored by the North Vancouver Community Arts Council. A bargain for renters is available at the June 9th show. Art pieces rented in June will be kept for three months, until September 8th, but renters will only be billed for two months, as there will not be any art rental shows during July and August. Even without such a discount, rates are reasonable. Costs are 2% of the artist's value of the work, averaging about $6 per month. 15th Annual Folkfest Craft Fair This popular 9-day outdoor Craft Fair is the kick-off to the North Shore Folkfest celebrations at Centennial Theatre. It will have 40 registered crafts persons. Crafts represented will range from handmade silk lingerie and sun hats, to blown glass perfume bottles and bowls, sterling silver and turquoise jewelry, wildflower photo cards with botanical descriptions and seed cards with planting instructions, exquisite reproductions of collectable miniature antique furniture, ceramic bowls with designs carved into them, and much much more.
