Accepted work will be displayed in the Atrium of the Hongkong Bank on Georgia St. This is a wonderful opportunity to show oft' the talent that B.C. has to offer in the original fabric/fiber art field. Touring Santa Fe With Music The West Coast Amateur Musicians Society is coordinating an Opera and Chamber Music tour to Santa Fe, New Mexico, August 5-13, 1993. Summertime Call for Outdoor Art Each summer, the three North Shore municipalities host a successful series of public concerts and entertainment in local parks. While most of the presenters ire professional performers and artists, we would also like to create opportunities for local artists to gain experience and to participate in these community events. The municipalities will provide a venue, promotional and technical support, and a captive audience! All North Shore amateur musicians, dance groups, visual artists and theatrical groups are invited to apply. Ferry Building Eases Restrictions The Ferry Building is very pleased to announce that the eligibility requirements for exhibitors have expanded to include all past and current resident artists from the entire North Shore! After three years of showing exclusively West Vancouver artists, the Ferry Building Gallery staff feel the popular venue ought to be available to artists of the North Shore. The Ferry Building Gallery is run by the District of West Vancouver's Parks and Recreation Department, under the Cultural Services Section. Since opening up as a gallery, the Ferry Building has proven successful in launching up-and-coming artists as well as featuring some of West Vancouver's best talents. A community gathering spot, located along the Sea Walk, the community has been very receptive. Over 1000 people each week make a point of stopping by to see bi-monthly shows. Artists wishing to apply for an exhibit at the Ferry Building or the newly expanded exhibit space at the West Vancouver Memorial Library, during the months of July through December 1993. will be selected via a jurying process. Entries will be accepted on Friday, April 2nd, from 3-7 pm at Klee Wyck, 200 Keith Rd.. West Vancouver. Artwork is to be picked up the following Sunday, April 4th, from noon-2 pm and the selections for exhibits will be posted at that time. A Space to Create In Creative Space, a new multi-purpose rehearsal hall and art studio opened its doors in February. The purpose of Creative Space is to provide an open and versatile environment for artists, students, groups and their activities to create...practice... exhibit... produce...workshop. In other words, you come to Creative Space to sing, act, play piano, paint, draw, workshop a play, meet with your writing group, teach a class or workshop, hold a meeting or small event, rehearse a show, exhibit a new work, do a photo shoot or just meet for coffee. Creative Space is a warehouse studio with a total of 1500 square feet comprised of a "playing" space of 32' by 32' and adjoining lounge and meeting area. Emily Carr College of Art A Design (ECCAD) has coordinated biennial exhibitions of young people's art to foster and support excellence in the Visual Arts. This 8th BCYA Exhibition will showcase works that include all the ages and stages of growth in visual expression by B.C.'s Join the Chamber Ensemble The Ambleside Chamber Ensemble meets every Wednesday at 4 pm at the West Vancouver Seniors' Activity Centre. The ensemble is open to people of all ages who have at least an intermediate level of sight reading. Although the group is especially looking for strings and brass musicians, all types of performers are welcome.
