C . Arts Councils has produced a monograph that should be in the hands of every British Columbian concerned about culture. It is eight pages long and therefore cannot be reproduced here in its entirety. However, we can tell you that the document includes a set of ten questions that were sent to both the Social Credit Party and the B . C . New Democrats and their responses. Questions include: * What mandate will you give the body responsible for the arts sector? What do you consider appropriate percentage levels of support for the arts from federal, provincial, municipal and corporate sources? W What are your strategies for achieving these levels of support? H What tangible steps will you take to increase funding to the arts and culture sector at the provincial level? * There are more o f these thoughtful questions and the responses are equally thought-provoking. Finally, the monograph includes an Action Plan on how to start m a k i n g the arts an issue in your constituency in the upcoming provincial election. A good first step?
