She also credits surreal films, music, nature, goddess mythology, folklore and animism as sources of inspiration. "Creating art is a personal, spiritual, emotional, mental and physical journey. "Each new project begins a new journey within her search for meaning and place in the world. These journeys are inspired by "diverse sources, with diverse results." They take their forms as oil and mixed media paintings, drawings, multimedia collages and poetry. She says "art was always around m e" and she received much encouragement from her artistic family. She studied Fine Art at the U niversity of Regina and continued her studies in Mixed Media at the University of Calgary before traveling through France, Italy, England and Asia. It was "a truly unique experience, viewing first hand, the art history and architecture of these regions in real life." W oodw ard se ttled in B ritish Columbia and opened her own studio. She chose a North Shore location "that would benefit and inspire" her as an artist. Originally she shared studio time with graphic and visual artist, Sia Kaskas and they learned from each o th er's expertise. After meeting many other talented bif Shettetf Hamm Rae a r tists, W oodw ard developed her studio into to a gallery, open to the public, for the viewing and purchasing of unique works by diverse artists.
