A s the Deep C o v e M u s i c grew a n d others were hired to instruct and to look after the business tasks, Pearson turned his attention to the vacant space below the store. H i s goal was to develop a multimedia production facility. "1 was the manager, salesman, book keeper, accountant, and taught as many music lessons as I c o u l d , mainly guitar, bass, vocals and a bit of p i a n o . H e knew, even then, that one day he would influence the N o r t h Shore music scene and produce concerts on this stage. A flute teacher named Rachael Geofroy (now Monteith) began to help out in the shop. Today she is the General Manager. In 1 9 9 9 , P e a r s o n reinstated a n o n - p r o f i t society called Musart which sponsors the Cates Park Concert Series. Many of the musicians w h o teach and study at D C M are featured at these events. N o w , as Pearson reflects on the years since he first arrived in N o r t h Vancouver, he can be proud. He has more than fulfilled the goal he had so many years ago when, while eating lunch on that seaside stage, he had a dream.
