District and City o f North Vancouver consider a new 'Office of Cultural A f f a i r s ' to r e p l a c e T h e North Vancouver Arts & Culture C o m m i s s i o n Councils for both t h e District a n d City of N o r t h V a n c o u v e r a n n o u n c e d i n S e p t e m b e r that they have endorsed, in p r i n c i p l e , t h e e s t a b l i s h m e n t o f a b i municipal 'Office of Cultural Affairs' (OCA) to o v e r s e e t h e delivery of all a s p e c t s o f a r t s a n d c u l t u r a l s e r v i c e s In North Vancouver. An independent, arms-length review identified a n e e d to a d d r e s s the delivery a n d f u n d i n g of arts s u p p o r t s e r v i c e s in the City a n d District. Currently, arts a n d cultural s e r v i c e s in North V a n c o u v e r have been provided by a m i x of staff external organizations, municipal NORTH VANCOUVER COMMUNITY ARTS COUNCIL · · H · · BUILDING S T R O N G COMMUNITIES T H R O U G H THE ARTS and agencies, including the Recreation Commission a n d the Arts a n d Culture Commission.
