A m o n g the society's u p c o m i n g events are a " W e l c o m e to the N e i g h b o u r h o o d " party i n A u g u s t to celebrate, not o n l y the f o u n d i n g of the L V L S , but the o p e n i n g of the new L y n n Valley l i b r a r y and a b o o k s h o p in L y n n Valley M a l l . A l s o i n the w o r k s is a l a t e - a u t u m n 'show and tell' evening d u r i n g w h i c h people interested i n s e l f - p u b l i s h i n g c a n ask q u e s t i o n s of l o c a l a u t h o r s w h o have already chosen that route. ' S u n d a y Scribes' takes place o n the last Sunday afternoon of each month f r o m 1 to 5 p . m . ; people gather to w a r m up w i t h w r i t i n g p r o m p t s and challenges, w o r k o n t h e i r o w n projects, and w o r k s h o p their stories with others.
