9th Annual Arts Symposium Once again, the North Shore Arts and Culture Commission has put together a stellar line-up of presentations and hands-on workshops for local artists and arts groups in all disciplines for the 2006 Arts Symposium. She w i l l present a slideshow called " G l u e / P o l l e n / C a t a l y s t " a conversation about C a r n i v a l Arts and C u l t u r e , exploring the interconnection between arts, public celebration and community spirit. This session w i l l be followed by t w o hands-on w o r k shops, one on C a r n i v a l Dance and the other Trickster mask m a k i n g . She invites participants to share their experiences of Carnivals and M a r d i G r a s , while inviting collaboration in the upcoming M o u n t a i n M a r d i Gras. Richards is an interdisciplinary artist, w h o conceives, commissions and produces experiments in Literature, Performance, M u s i c , D J C u l t u r e , Visual Art and New M e d i a . C arnival and parade experience as artistic director, includes being a Section Director for the state occasion of H R H Queen Elizabeth's G o l d e n Jubilee C o m m o n w e a l t h parade and Best Large Masquerade Band Award at N o t t i n g H i l l C a r n i v a l , Europe's largest carnival.
