Drifters (2005) Eric Neighbour and c o m m u n i t y Dclbrook Recreation Centre, West Queens Commissioned by D e l b r o o k Recreation Centre In 2004 these fun and abstract human figures were created by community residents under the watchful eye of Eric Neighbour, artist/facilitator. The figures are constructed with driftwood (the skeleton) and industrial paper. Treatment with fibre glass and sealants ensures weather proofing. This co-operative venture resulted in the creation of inviting and identifiable entranceways to the centre. A d o r n i n g the walls, ceramic art demonstrates, through the work of the pottery studio, a variety of leisure and sporting activities.
