" S h e also a d v e r t i s e s in c o m m u n i t y listings a n d a d d s h e r o w n c o n t a c t s t o t h e m a i l i n g list f o r t h e o p e n i n g a n d exhibition. Presently she d o e s n ' t c h a r g e a n y t h i n g extra for t h e s e services b u t b e g i n n i n g in 2 0 0 5 s h e will i n c l u d e a very s m a l l c o m m i s s i o n in t h e c o n t r a c t . W i t h such a huge response to her advertisement, Roberts h a d t o m a k e s o m e quick decisions. N o t a curator herself, s h e k n e w t h a t s h e c o u l d o n l y p r o v i d e t h e g a l l e r y s p a c e if t h e a r t i s t s t o o k c a r e o f all t h e l o g i s t i c a l a s p e c t s o f t h e i r s h o w s . S h e set u p some guidelines, interviewed prospective exhibitors a n d w e e d e d t h e m d o w n t o the people w h o w e r e serious. Roberts has a solid b a c k g r o u n d in business. S h e trained as a n esthetician a n d by age twenty-seven o w n e d her o w n shop. A f t e r a f e w years, s h e d e c i d e d t o c h a n g e careers a n d studied p h o t o g r a p h y . S h e set u p s h o p calling her n e w enterprise Focus O n Y o u P h o t o g r a p h y . In n o t i m e s h e h a d a s u c c e s s f u l b u s i n e s s p h o t o g r a p h i n g w e d d i n g s a n d portraits. She keeps a permanent R o b e r t s a s k e d t h e artists t o c o m e d o w n a n d b r i n g a p i e c e o f work.
