A graduate of Emily Carr, she has produced a great number of decorative pieces in a variety of motifs. In her bunny series, she focuses on the idea an idyllic childhood, one filled with the joys of nature and the security of nurturanee. hsbc.ca HSBC^ The world's local bank Angie O'Sullivan's own young children are influencing her artistic style these days. Her oil paintings possess a childlike quality coupled with a witty tongue-in-cheek sense of humour. Through her pictures, boldly coloured Images of animals in nonsense situations, O'Sullivan takes a friendly poke at the more serious world of art she studied at Simon Fraser University. Issued bv HSBC Bunk Canada And in the furniture department, Judson Beaumont's works bring a whole new meaning to home decorating. The artist cites Walt Disney, Dr. Seuss and Warner Brothers cartoons as some of his influences. In fact, his fabulous furniture designs were the genesis for the whole exhibition. Although Beaumont's company is called Straight Line Designs, it is difficult to find a straight line anywhere in his work. It's all wonderfully wacky with the kind of attitude that makes you think it's alive. Some pieces even have names like Andre, Victor and Miss Kate. At Opus, we stock a wide selection of decorative papers which can be used for bookmaking, cards, collage and just about anything else you can think of. Most art exhibitions cater to an adult clientele. Not so A Through Wonderland. Waltz It's totally child-oriented. In fact, a special children's opening with entertainment, crafts and fun-filled activities will take place from 1-3 pm on Saturday November 22. The regular reception for big kids is at 7 o'clock on Thursday November 20. As we approach the dark days of winter, you owe it to yourself to escape the day-to-day routines.
