Her oil paintings possess a childlike quality coupled with a witty tongue-in-cheek sense of humour. The artist cites Walt Disney, Dr. Seuss and Warner Brothers cartoons as some of his influences. In fact, his fabulous furniture designs were the genesis for the whole exhibition. Although Beaumont's company is called Straight Line Designs, it is difficult to find a straight line anywhere in his work. It's all wonderfully wacky with the kind of attitude that makes you think it's alive. Some pieces even have names like Andre, Victor and Miss Kate.
