Nothing illustrates the strange nature of these Welsh stories better than this vertically halved tree. The combination of fantasy, myth, history and folklore in The Mabinogion conjures up a magical and enchanted world, which is firmly rooted in the hills and forests of Wales. They make up, in their virtuosity and panache, one of the great Welsh epics. This collection of eleven Welsh tales, told over several centuries, and written down in the 13th century, will be retold by members and friends of the Vancouver Society of Storytelling. $35 for tellers and listeners alike with shared potluck lunches on both days, and a wonderful catered Welsh groaning board for Saturday dinner.
