So far, eight seats have been sold at $350 each, and 58 more are available. Anyone purchasing a seat will get to choose their seat, and will have their name engraved on a plaque on the back, as well receiving a charitable tax receipt. Seycove Drama Association president Tierney Edgeler says the group hopes to have all the seats sold in time for a gala opening in January, and those purchasing seats will be able to sit in their own for the gala. 997-Plaj(7§29) .north v a n r e c . c o m Edgeler has a few more fund-raising schemes up her sleeve. "We're selling them through word of mouth, setting up displays at school functions, and in November will be mailing out information with report cards. There is also a team of volunteers working on encouraging donations from the business community." The Deep Cove Stage Society is also helping out, with funds raised at a premiere night Oct. 10 of Beyond Reasonable Doubt by Jeffrey Archer destined for the Vortex Theatre. Drama teacher Suzanne Cook has an extremely active program, from term-end plays done by the students in fall and spring, to entries in theatre festivals, and a major musical every year. Cook also takes a group of drama students to plays in New York every year, and the theatre will be used by older students doing drama for film and television training.
