set and lighting design we decided to tip our hat to the source material. Much of the show plays against sparse stylized scenic elements but we have moments where we concede to the trappings of a big showy concert and allow the performers and the rock music to take centre stage." Uncle Randy Productions was created as a North Shore company and although their success has allowed them to branch out across the Lower Mainland, they still have North Shore roots. For this production those roots include director Richard Berg, producer Ev Berg, stage manager Lara Freimond, half a dozen cast members and nearly all of the crew. This North Shore contingent, along w i t h their Vancouver c o u n t e r p a r t s , has w o r k e d l o n g a n d h a r d t o make this s h o w something special. So what is it that made this show most attractive for Uncle Randy to produce? "From Jesus Christ Superstar to Godspell, w e have always been at our best when w e have young talented performers belting out theatrical rock songs," concludes Berg. "The youthful energy and talent assembled for this show looks to be our most impressive yet."
