these cars on the street, and there is a little glimmer of a smile, or outright laughter. It's a wonderful thing that happens, and people forget what they were mad about." Now under the umbrella of the non-profit Artcar Society of Canada, the rules for creating an artcar are simple. There really are none. Use your imagination - but stock cars with a few pinstripes and a spoiler added are not considered art. They have to be painted, or added onto with a variety of objects that make them unique. Some people specialize on covering their cars with Barbie dolls, trolls, or even lawn grass. The only limitation is your imagination. Want to try? At the Funky Artcar Festival, there will be a public artcar creation event, in which people can purchase a part of the car to decorate, and the finished product will be auctioned off. There will be face painting and temporary tattoos, live music, and a lot of artcar creators to schmooze with while you pick their brains. "People who do this are taking their personality and sharing it with the world in a big, bold way," explains Kaiser, who has a new Gypsy Caravan for this year's show (her husband, Aviv Barkay will have his Purple Haze on display). "Regular cars are mundane. Everyone's got the same thing. These vehicles are all unique. I'm blown away by the new ones I see every year." Anything but mundane.
