A s a result, each scarf is an individual a n d u n i q u e c r e a t i o n . This p a r t n e r s h i p p r o g r a m b e t w e e n t h e C i t y Sharp a p p r o a c h e d t h e students in C a p i l a n o C o l l e g e ' s textile arts p r o gram a n d in short order, artists a n d students N a t a l i e G r a n b o w , V a n e s s a C u n n i n g t o n , Fariba M i r z a i a n d Svetlana Bardos, w o r k i n g in four groups of three, h a d presented prototypes of their designs f o r silk scarves t o the City. They w e r e a p p r o v e d , w i t h t h e City o r d e r i n g 10 of each design as unique m e m e n t o s for visiting guests. "The City requires small gift tokens for special occasions t o present to v i s i t i n g g u e s t officials. Presentation Auction Fundraiser House Gallery's 2002 Presentation House Gallery's fundraisers have a l w a y s h a d an innovative t w i s t to t h e m , especially since the mid-1990s w h e n they m o u n t e d their first Exquisite Corpse in Lotusland event. It w a s f o l l o w e d by a p i n h o l e p h o t o g r a p h auction a n d then The Return of the Corpse in 1999. Since then the Gallery has taken a break from large-scale fundraisers, b u t that break is about t o come to an end w i t h this September's 2 0 0 2 a u c t i o n . A g a i n , this year t h e concept is t o w o r k w i t h t h e artists t o create a w o r k , rather than asking the artists t o d o n a t e a w o r k of art from their inventory. This year all twenty-eight artists are making Giclée prints, w o r k i n g w i t h G a m m a Editions of Vancouver. Giclée is t h e newest archival ink jet printing process p r o d u c i n g highly stable color a n d black a n d w h i t e prints that demonstrate an e x c e p t i o n a l tonal range.
