So, I turned t o yet a n o t h e r task I w a s n ' t f e e l i n g particularly inspired a b o u t - m o v i n g (the N o r t h Shore A r t s C o m m i s s i o n a n d Arts A l i v e m o v e d in M a r c h t o 3 3 5 Lonsdale A v e n u e ) . S t a n d i n g in front of recycling bins a n d p a c k i n g b o x e s I sorted t h r o u g h a d e c a d e of c o r r e s p o n d e n c e , press releases a n d p r o m o t i o n a l p a c k a g e s . It w a s like b e i n g o n a n architectural d i g . The e x c i t e m e n t o f the " d i g " s o o n w o r e off a n d t e d i u m set in as I alternately filed, fell o n t o t h e floor a n d I r e m e m b e r e d h o w ' i n s p i r e d ' I w a s after C l a u d i a C o r n w a l l ' s w r i t ing w o r k s h o p . C l a u d i a asked participants t o picture their family h o m e o n fire - w h a t of their f a m ily's w o u l d they save a n d w h y ? A s everyone b e g a n w r i t i n g I sat back, after all I w a s only there as an observer. The next t h i n g I k n e w I w a s madly w r i t i n g a n d a little teary-eyed! W e s m e l l e d t h e c o n t e n t s a n d w r o t e d o w n w h a t e v e r the scent t r i g g e r e d w i t h i n . A g a i n , I w a s c o m pletely taken a b a c k a t h o w such a s i m p l e exercise c o u l d ignite so many m e m o r i e s a n d insights w i t h i n minutes.
