The Artists in Residence program is equally interactive, involving the artists and students taking field trips to the Visions sites, such as Horseshoe Bay and Maplewood Farm. Once at these spectacular places, the students reflect on their natural and cultural significance to the North Shore community and express these reflections through their own inspired works of art. As well as sharing their creative and artistic processes with the students, the artists also worked closely with each student to develop his or her own personal vision, helping each to explore and express his or her relationships to these places. By looking into the past, this educational component of the Visions of the North Shore project brings together different generations living on the North Shore to explore their histories from the past and to share these expressions with the community in the present.
