Symposium 2001 & Fully Exposed This year's fourth annual Community Arts Symposium and North Vancouver Arts Market has something for everyone in the arts community. Painters, sculptors, actors, dancers, musicians, writers, community arts groups are invited to discover creative ways to network, build marketing skills, and see first-hand examples of new and innovative ways of working together in artistic excellence. The all-day event at Lucas Centre on Saturday, Jan 27, will showcase workshops such as: "Grant Writing for Art Groups," "Corporate Sponsorships & Building Business Partnerships," "Where ¡4 How to Get Your Work Hung" (local curator panel), "PhotoDocumentation," "RecordingYour Own Music," and "How to Get Your Writing Published." During the Symposium, the North Shore Arts Commission will host a public input session which is the first opportunity for community consultation on a new North Vancouver Cultural Plan. Rounding out the day is the popular to their local customers and audience, develop new patrons, forge contacts and sell work. The last market hosted over 25 professional community artists and was patronized by hundreds of local residents. Symposium 2001 is a day not to be missed! The market offers a unique opportunity for North Vancouver professional and emerging artists, performers and writers to get the word out Public Art Forum at Centennial Theatre The City of North Vancouver has allocated funds to create a public art component for the Centennial Theatre Tower. The purpose of the art is to highlight the Theatre as a cultural destination for the North Shore and a gateway for the City. The City of North Vancouver Council, the North Shore Arts Commission, the Public Art Program Steering Committee and the North Shore Recreation Commission invite input from North Shore residents.
